The Gone Fishin’ update for LEGO Fortnite introduces over a dozen types of fishes to the ecosystem, across species and sub-species. One of the rarest of them all is the Vendetta Flopper which can be found in Epic rarity, as well as a Legendary variant for mounting as a trophy. This LEGO Fortnite guide is all about the location of the Vendetta Flopper and the best methods to guarantee catching it as often as possible.

 

LEGO Fortnite Vendetta Flopper Location

The Epic Vendetta Flopper is the only base Epic rarity species of fish in LEGO Fortnite. While most other fish can be found in multiple locations, the Vendetta Flopper is exclusively found in the small pools located inside of Caves in the Grasslands biome, as well as even more rarely in the Caves in the Frostlands biome.

Bear in mind that not all Caves even have pools, so don’t give up. It might help to have a Survival Compass in your Equipment to help with locating Caves. Make sure you bring along two Fishing Rods in case of breakage, but also for glitching as mentioned below, as well as Bait Buckets of Epic or Rare quality.

Neither time of day nor weather has any effect on Vendetta Flopper spawn rates.

The Vendetta Flopper shares its loot table with two other fish at its Cavepool location: the ultra common Orange Flopper, and the Blue Slurp Fish. In order to maximize your chances of getting the Vendetta Flopper over the other two, make use of an Epic Fishing Rod, or at the very least a Rare Fishing Rod.

If nothing else, rod selection helps with durability while fishing, as well as speed of the fishing animations, which is especially useful when you’re farming for fish. There are some helpful tips and glitches listed below in their own section as well.

As far as bait goes, while you can use blue Rare Bait Buckets, you should save any and all purple or Epic Bait Buckets for these Cave pools, as it is the only place where using it makes any sense: there are no other Epic fish species, nor places where they can be fished. Every Epic Bait Bucket can give you up to 15 fishes to catch. That’s 15 opportunities to catch an Epic or Legendary fish.

Once you run out of purple Bait Buckets, you can fall back on the blue Bait Buckets for similar results. Rare Bait Buckets can give you between 8-12 fishes to catch, or an average of 10 each bucket.

The last two bucket rarities are potentially a waste of time, as the chances of catching an Epic Vendetta Flopper with them, dwindle significantly.

In a pinch, you can absolutely catch the Vendetta Flopper without either the best rod or even any bait at all, but having them both vastly improves your odds.

Catching your first Vendetta Flopper automatically unlocks the Rare Reflection Charm recipe back at the Crafting Bench.

The Legendary Vendetta Flopper is even more rare than the base Epic variant. As mentioned above, weigh the odds in your favor by both using an Epic Fishing Rod and tossing in an Epic Bait Bucket.

You can recognize that a catch is Legendary as the pool swirls around much wider as you begin to reel in the fish. The chime at the end is unique as well.

While fishing, let the rod hook something, reel it in, and as soon as the ‘Reel!’ prompt fades away on screen, quickly switch to another tool such as the sword, then switch back to the Fishing Rod to continue fishing with it. Your catch, whatever it may be, will be on the surface of the water for collection whenever you want it. But you will also have skipped the entire animation of reeling in your prize, looking at it, and putting it away, before being able to cast the line again. As long as you make the switch at some point during the animation, this will shave several seconds of precious time while fishing. This works anywhere, in any biome.

Sometimes your Bait Bucket will not deploy properly and just bounces off of the water and remains on the surface for you to pick up. This is because the water is too shallow. Try aiming and throwing it at slightly different spots till it gets in there, or try an entirely different pool nearby.

Shallow water doesn’t prevent your from fishing normally, without the Bait Bucket fishing hole.

If the Cave pool you have found is both tiny and already has a natural fishing hole, but it’s the wrong rarity, you can do a couple of things about it:

Fish it out completely. Just keep fishing the bait area until it is exhausted of fish.

Attempt to aim and throw a Bait Bucket at different pinpoints till it gets in the pool and cancels out the pre-baited fishing hole. Difficult to accomplish, but doesn’t hurt to try.

Throw the Bait Bucket dead center of the existing baited fishing hole. This can also cancel it out, but can very rarely glitch and lose you your Bait Bucket completely.

The world-renowned singer and artist made his Fortnite debut back in December, forever changing the way kids crank the 90s and yell about hackers. For months, The Weeknd could be seen sitting in the virtual store, practically begging five-year-olds to purchase him with their parent’s credit card. This new, unprecedented collaboration with Epic Games means that The Weeknd will be available via the item shop forever.

Many gamers wondered just how long The Weeknd would be staying in the shop, with a big component of Fortnite being its timed exclusivity. Other skins like Black Widow, Deadpool and the infamous Renegade Raider skins have not been rereleased in the shop for quite a long time, giving them legendary status. However, with the news of a permanent residency in the shop, players no longer need to worry, as they have an infinite amount of time to purchase and play as him.

As part of the deal, The Weeknd also announced that he is working on a new album that will be exclusive to Fortnite. Players will need to purchase the next battle pass and reach level 850 in order to unlock the album, which will delete itself after one listen in order to maintain its exclusivity.

“It’s got drums, it’s got piano, it’s got a triangle, should be real goated on the sticks or whatever. It’s gonna be unlike anything you’ve ever heard,” Tesfaye said while lighting a cigarette with a lit 100 dollar bill.

The Weeknd is far from the first real-life celebrity to be added to the game, with past updates bringing rappers like Travis Scott and world-renowned sandworm enjoyer Zendaya to players’ lockers. All of these skins come at a price, but it’s a small price to pay for your very own tiny version of The Weeknd.

This so-called “city” is barely even a town, is basically inside a volcano, and you can hardly walk down the street without bursting into flames. What’s the big draw here? The delicious and trendy food! What’s the food? Rocks.

If you get the pirates out of town and help the Lurelians (Lurelinians?) rebuild, you’ll find that a salt spa (the equivalent of which costs up to 50 rupees in other villages) costs only five grains of salt. You heard me right. Five. Grains. Of salt. You can’t get a deal like that anywhere else, folks.

7. Tarrey Town

This simple neighborhood of prefab homes makes me think of the 1950s. It’s like a Levittown without the racial segregation. In fact, all races live in harmony in Tarrey Town, and the only people excluded are the vast majority of us whose names don’t end in “-son.” I don’t know if that’s a violation of the Fair Housing Act, but it’s definitely a dubious business model.

A house in Tarrey Town costs a modest 1,500 rupees. For reference, an apple costs 12 rupees. I didn’t do the math to figure out what number of apples cost the same as an entire house in Tarrey Town, but I’m sure that number is absurd, and if I put it here you would find it hilarious.

6. Kakariko Village

Kakariko is just an ordinary village with farms, birds, and a flute constantly being played in the background. Sure, it rains every goddamn day, but it’s home.

Enjoy the low prices while they last. You see that highly-educated Zonai Survey Team? You see those tourists hungering for a peek at the Ring Ruins? These are the warning signs of gentrification. It won’t be long before there’s a line around the block for overpriced hearty truffles and you overhear some hipster Hylians bragging about how many times they’ve been to Kakariko Village and how “raining all the time is, like, its big thing.”

5. Rito Village

I’ve been trying to keep this article professional but I’m gonna level with you. I just don’t like these bird guys. Everyone is so charmed by their pretty music and their la-di-da spiral staircase city. Well I don’t wanna live in a six-story walk-up! Also, is anyone else bothered that the Swallow’s Roost offers a “Rito-down bed”? Does that mean they’re plucking their own feathers out of their own skin and asking me to sleep in it? That ain’t right. This village… is for the birds!

Hahaha! Get it? It’s inhabited by birds, but also “for the birds” means worthless, so “for the birds” has two meanings here. I’m saying it’s full of bird people but also it sucks. Did the explanation help you to get the joke? Are you laughing yet?

Hateno Village is the closest thing post-apocalyptic Hyrule has to a bustling metropolis. One of the biggest factors for cost of living is school quality, and this village is home to the best, nay, the ONLY school in Hyrule which covers topics other than how to talk to men.

Remember we said that a house is 1,500 rupees in Tarrey Town? Well, a house costs 3,000 rupees here! And that was in Breath of the Wild, so who knows how much that would be adjusted for inflation!

Beautiful, historic architecture, and every inch of it with a waterfront view? This place is like Venice on crack. They had a water problem and somebody cleared it up in, like, a day. Why is it that they always fix the problems in expensive areas first? Why can’t Link do this in Flint, Michigan?

Lookout Landing is less a village and more a research outpost and military base. This level 4 Fishing Rod needs nothing more than Frostpine Rod in your inventory, and a level 4 Crafting Bench to put everything together, in order to unlock the recipe. As for the ingredients themselves, you will need 2 Drawstring, 4 Frostpine Rod, 2 Wool Thread, and 3 Arctic Claw.

Upgrading your Fishing Rod rarity primarily raises its durability, and catch speed. It also slightly increases your chances of catching fish over junk, as well as rarity of the fish itself (not to be confused with species of the fish) which benefits from a minimum Fishing Rod rarity.

In order to speed up the rate at which you catch a bite even further and guarantee that you always hook fish rather than items, you can try fishing at the four different types of fishing holes, which are the colored circles in the water. While they can naturally occur in your world if you’re lucky, if you aren’t, you can also toss out Bait Buckets of a given rarity into the water and make your very own fishing hole.

The combination of the right Fishing Rod rarity and the right Bait Bucket rarity can almost guarantee a higher chance to hook the right Fish rarity, if you’re aiming for something in particular, but bear in mind that biome and location also play a major role in Fish species.

LEGO Fortnite How To Make The Survival Compass

Alongside the new fishing tools added in the the Gone Fishin’ update for LEGO Fortnite, we’ve also got some items to help with navigating the map. This guide has the breakdown on everything needed for crafting the more advanced of the two compasses, the Survival Compass. This upgraded compass adds icons to points of interest to the compass bar which might come in handy when you’re on the hunt for something in particular

 

LEGO Fortnite How To Craft Glass

The first step to getting the recipe for the Survival Compass is getting some Glass.

Grab your Shovel and head on over to the Dry Valley or desert biome, though a sandy beachfront would also work as a source.

Dig up some Sand, at least 10 in total for a Survival Compass, and take it to a Metal Smelter.

The recipe for Glass requires 2 Sand for each Brightcore in order to craft a single pane of Glass, so you’ll need 5 of the latter as well.

Acquiring Glass in your inventory unlocks the Survival Compass recipe over at the level 3 Crafting Bench.
