This guide has the breakdown on everything needed for crafting the more advanced of the two compasses, the Survival Compass. This upgraded compass adds icons to points of interest to the compass bar which might come in handy when you’re on the hunt for something in particular

LEGO Fortnite How To Craft Glass

The first step to getting the recipe for the Survival Compass is getting some Glass.

Grab your Shovel and head on over to the Dry Valley or desert biome, though a sandy beachfront would also work as a source.

Dig up some Sand, at least 10 in total for a Survival Compass, and take it to a Metal Smelter.

The recipe for Glass requires 2 Sand for each Brightcore in order to craft a single pane of Glass, so you’ll need 5 of the latter as well.

LEGO Fortnite How To Craft The Survival Compass

Acquiring Glass in your inventory unlocks the Survival Compass recipe over at the level 3 Crafting Bench.

Aside from the 5 Glass, you’ll need 1 each of Copper Bar and Sand Claw.

If you’ve forgotten how to get the latter, here’s a quick reminder: Desert Wolves drop these as loot on being killed in the Drylands or desert biome.

Copper Bars are smelted at the Metal Smelter, of course.

LEGO Fortnite How To Use The Survival Compass

If you had a Basic Compass previously, simply replace it with the Survival Compass in the Equipment bar to use it, but either way the compass bar should pop right up at the top of the screen with the cardinal directions and numbered coordinates, as well as many additional markers for points of interest.
