Call of Duty Clone XDefiant Also Copied Activision Work Environment

SAN FRANCISCO — XDefiant the online multiplayer shooter from Ubisoft San Francisco copies more than just the gameplay from Call of Duty as sources have confirmed that the developer also copied Activision’s work environment while making the game.

Various devs on the project have come forward with statements on the work conditions they’ve faced.

“It hasn’t been good. We’ve been forced to crunch, ideas are constantly scrapped, so many internal deadlines have been missed and there’s rampant misogyny everywhere. But this is what we all agreed to. It was made clear on day one that if our game is going to be like Call of Duty, it needs to be made like Call of Duty,” said one dev.

Game Director Wade Bagwell explained the thought process behind emulating such conditions.

“It’s all about getting into that mindset. Once we decided for the game to resemble Call of Duty more closely I knew that the best way to accomplish that was by using Activision’s own development techniques,” said Bagwell. “Anyone can make an online first-person shooter but not everyone can make a Call of Duty and that’s because of the immense amount of harassment that goes on behind the scenes. You can’t make games that big that quickly unless you treat your workers like dirt.”

Bagwell claims that the transition to a poor workplace was easy.

“Luckily at Ubisoft, we have plenty of experience at this sort of thing and most people were all too happy to start back up. The was a huge morale boost amongst a lot of our male employees once we announced the plan. They were so happy to get to start making inappropriate comments to their female colleagues again. And HR was happy to hear they could start ignoring complaints again. They hate paperwork. A lot of the women didn’t seem too pleased but what can you do?”

At press time, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot is reportedly in contact with Bobby Kotick to learn some leadership tips.

Fast-Rising Valorant Rookie Begins Slur Training

DALLAS — Jon “SnipeSmoke” Straiham a Valorant rookie who has been quickly rising through the competitive scene, has confirmed that he is set to begin slur training.

Straiham has taken the Valorant competitive scene by storm recently and is ready to fully round out his game.

“I’m ready to step my game up and get to the next level. I know I’m really good at the fundamentals like map awareness and shooting but anyone can be good at that, what separates the casuals from the pros is your skill at hurling slurs and both friend and foe,” said Straiham.

“I grew up in a pretty progressive household where my parents taught us to respect others and be mindful of offensive language which is useless if you want to play Valorant at a high level. I’ve got the best coaches with me and I’m ready to learn.”

One such coach is 25-year-old retired Valorant pro Noah “MamaKakaBoBoDay” Marks.

“I’m really grateful to have the chance to foster the next generation of Valorant. Jon’s parents’ teachings really did a number on him in terms of progressiveness, he’s still instinctually calling out microaggressions and the like which is a real problem but he’s a great kid and I know he’s gonna be shouting slurs like the best of them in no time,” said Marks

Straiham starts his training soon and is looking forward to the experience.

“We’re gonna start with the basics, Homophobia and Misogyny 101 before moving on to more advanced things like Alt-Right stuff. I’m pretty excited, Noah is one of the greatest of all time, and to be learning how to scream slurs from the guy who went on a 13-minute anti-Semitic tirade against his own team after he got killed rushing the enemy by himself is a dream come true,” said Straiham

At press time, Straiham is currently reading through hundreds of 4chan gaming forum posts and youtube comments to learn as many slurs as possible.

Backpack Battles Update Patch Notes 0.9.3 Mar 29

The full patch notes for Backpack Battles patch 0.9.3 on March 29 are below:

Hi everyone,

Time for more balancing! The last 2 patches brought us closer, but there are still things to do.

While Ranger, Reaper and Berserker seem even, Pyromancer still overperforms despite the previous nerfs. So Pyromancer gets another rounds of nerfs until it is in line with the other three. Don’t worry, Pyromancer players, if this shows to be too harsh, we will buff them back up next week!

For Ranger, Reaper and Berserker we now even out the subclasses, mostly by buffing the weaker ones.

Review Bombing? This Bad Game Is Getting Bad Reviews

Another shameful display by gamers today as they collectively review bombed Cat’s Cradle 3, a terrible game.

“I just don’t understand it,” said lead Cat’s Cradle 3 developer Tom Pontius. “All we want to do is develop and release underbaked and uninteresting games, and then gamers jump on us out of nowhere with negative reviews just because our game sucks. What gives these gamers the right to provide negative feedback if our product is incomplete? The worst part is our game isn’t woke at all, so we can’t even blame it on those types of gamers.”

Despite committing heinous crimes against game developers, one review bombing terrorist came out of the shadows to give their side of the story.

“I just don’t like the game,” explained insatiable gamer troglodyte Jenna Luzio. “I paid sixty bucks for this thing and it ends up running horribly on my PC. Then I have to walk everywhere because fast travel is only included as DLC. I don’t want to pay more money to play the game I already paid for! So I left a scathing review, hopefully no one else buys this game and makes the same mistake I did, [because I am part of an insidious conspiracy working against game companies to ruin their sales by review bombing].”

Review bombing is not a new thing, masses coming together to inappropriately slander a subpar piece of media has existed since time immemorial.

“Shakespeare once wrote an atrocious play,” explained historian of criticism Pat Quince. “Instead of doing the polite thing, and pretending it was great, the evil patrons of the Globe review bombed the play by telling their friends it was bad. Seeing this pattern continue over time and still be an institutional ill of our society is very distressing to me. It reminds me of how gamers in the 80s review bombed the ET video game and forced them to bury it in a landfill. I don’t see why consumers have to say when they don’t like a product, it’s frankly disrespectful and immature.”

At press time another innocent developer tragically fell prey to the review bombing gamer mob after releasing a AAA title with recycled assets and outdated gameplay.

Ranking Minecraft’s Wood Types as if It’s Not Obvious That Dark Oak Is #1

Well, here we are. You, drool-covered and slack-jawed thousands of posts deep into a twitter session so deeply uninteresting that it borders on self-harm. Me, metaphorically chained to my radiator begging you to look away while I pass the key that I swallowed. But that’s the deal, isn’t it? I provide you with your content slop and you… I don’t really know what you do.

You’ve played Minecraft, so the upcoming rank order of wood types should be painfully obvious, but we’re still going to do it. If you didn’t already read the title, let me save you time: Dark Oak is #1. Here we go, I guess.

#10: Jungle

Here you go: a spot on the list confirming your already-held belief that Jungle wood is the worst of the bunch. I mean, just look at it: It’s a vomit-inducing orange. Are you happy now? Did you forget about the fast food bags strewn around the floor of your apartment for a moment? Good. Now you can post a screenshot of this to twitter and win an argument with a bot.

#9: Acacia

Can you even pronounce this one? Be serious. Either way, this one sucks and you already knew that and this whole exercise is pointless because it’s so obvious which ones are good and which are bad. Look at that picture – that’s someone trying their hardest to make Acacia work. Kind of like how hard your parents are trying to get you to work. How’s that going?

#8: Birch

Birch is a light-colored wood that only works in pretty rare situations. For the most part, the darker woods have an easier time matching with a wider range of colors. That’s why Dark Oak is going to be #1. You know this. You knew this. Are you happy that your beliefs were confirmed? Does that give you some sense of superiority? Righteousness? What do you even want from me, anymore?

#7: Oak

My psychiatrist called today and they said they’re going to up my dose. A lot of that is honestly your fault. Reckon with that. Sit with it.

#6: Warped Hyphae

Are you even reading these?

#5: Crimson Hyphae

Seriously: what does it matter to you that the red nether wood got placed above the blue one? What value did this provide you, other than confirming what you already know? This stuff is objective. The woods that are higher up get used more effectively than the lower woods. The fact that there’s a compulsion within you so desperate for endorsement should be cause for self-reflection, not reason to rub your Pocky-greased fingers over another screen.

#4: Mangrove

It’s red, but slightly deeper and muted. Therefore, it goes with a lot more blocks and can act as both an accent and a background. There’s a depth to its coloration that isn’t quite present in the previous woods.

#3: Cherry

It’s a great colored off-white in a game with very little opportunity to play with pastels. You… God, you already know this. Comment how much you agree and I won’t read it.

#2: Spruce

You made it. You managed to waste another five minutes of your life. The website’s ranking of woods in Minecraft matches your opinions, so now you feel good. Turn your phone’s flashlight on and point it at your hands. Why is there dirt under your fingernails? You haven’t gone outside in days. Are your pets fed? Is the water bill paid?

#1: Dark Oak

I already told you this was going to happen. You knew this would be here. The fact that you’re reading this is a sign of something deep and sinister within you. A social worker will be at your home shortly.
