Counter-Strike 2 gets a new update in time for the PGL Copenhagen 2024 Major. Along with the Major’s Hub, there’s a new Viewer Pass of course.

As fixes go, the only thing mentioned is a tweak to the flames of the Molotov which would previously obscure the vision of a player, but not that of their adversary.

  • The Copenhagen Major Hub is now available. Visit the hub to purchase tournament items, play the Pick’Em Challenge and more.
  • Purchase a Copenhagen 2024 Viewer Pass to receive an upgradable Copenhagen 2024 Coin. With an active pass, you can upgrade your coin and earn extra souvenir packages by playing the Pick’Em Challenge. Sons Of The Forest Update Patch Notes Mar 13

Sons Of The Forest gets some good news with a new update for the game. Your sidekick companion can ride or die with you in golf carts now, as you hunt and craft everything in sight.

This patch gives Kelvin the ability to get into golf carts, allows players to create a new armor type, and adds improvements to the auto foundation snapping system.

Boeing Reminds Passengers Planes Are All Still in Early Access

ARLINGTON, Va — After weeks of reported malfunctions and passenger injuries, Boeing responded to customer concerns by reminding the community that its planes are still in early access.

“All of our released planes currently remain in early access, so some issues are to be expected,” Boeing said in a statement. “Fortunately, many airlines were willing to purchase our planes at full price, knowing that they may very well never be ready for a production release. Early access is extremely important to Boeing, because we truly believe that the development of airplanes is a collaborative process between our manufacturing teams and airline passengers themselves.”

“In addition, the money earned from these planes being in use for the last 25 years will continue to help crowdfund development for bug fixes, like making sure the door stays on once the plane reaches altitude.”

Sean Pullman, a frequent flier, was less than enthused by the admission.

“How have I been paying full price to fly on planes that aren’t even ready to be released to the public? I just need to get from one place to another, without dying. I shouldn’t have to be sending in bug reports for every missing bolt, busted MCAS, loose tire, overheating cable bundle, or hydraulic gear fire. And honestly, I’m not feeling great about pointing out issues with Boeing’s planes after what happened to the last guy.”

The FAA also released a response to Boeing’s statement through its spokesperson, Kay Whitley.

“Ultimately, our job as a government agency is to take a step back and allow airline manufacturers to decide how best to regulate themselves, and then do investigations into the resulting issues. Once we’ve determined that the companies are indeed negligent, we come up with a fine for them to pay that looks like a large sum of money but is really absolutely meaningless beneath the wave of profits they make every year. Besides, it’s not like anyone’s dead.”

At press time, Whitley was seen confirming her next United flight would be on an AAA Airbus.

Gamers Under Attack? Congress Votes to Ban Lower Half of Every TikTok Video

WASHINGTON DC — The House voted to approve a blatantly anti-gamer bill today that would see the bottom half of every Tiktok video, often a safe refuge for gamers as they watch a cooking video or whatever, banned.

“Is any gamer really surprised they chose to ban the bottom half and not the top half?” one online commenter going by the username ImJustMen said. “It’s a targeted attack on us. They know we cannot physically endure a complete 14 second dance video without visual gamer support.”

The disturbing bill now goes to the senate, where it’s fate is uncertain. But Biden has said he intends to approve it if given a chance.

“No surprise — Biden is nothing more than a puppet for Sweet Baby Inc,” one online commenter said. “Being a gamer in this country is one of the most difficult things I’ve ever done, but I refuse to give in. I’m downloading a ton of 2x speed Minecraft gameplay right now and will just hold a second phone halfway over my first so I can get through these videos without clicking away. If Uncle Sam wants to take that from me he’ll have to come and try.”

As of press time, the devs behind Subway Surfers were reportedly beginning to wonder if they should spent more on their Washington lobbying.

Game Studio Grinds Employees Into Dirt for 72 on Metacritic

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A recently leaked internal memo from video game developer Jamtown Studios about working conditions leading up to their recently released character-action game Harmonious has made the rounds of social media today.

Per the memo:

“We are in a dire situation. We must band together and push through to the finish line. This is going to take a lot of sacrifices, a lot of late nights, a lot of missed time with loved ones, but it’ll all be worth it in the end. We are creating something life changing. Something that’ll leave an impact on this world. Something that will stay just above having a 6 handle on Metacritic.

If you have any questions, please follow up with your manager or Jennifer as I will be on vacation with my family until the end of the month. Get the patch out.”

At press time, Harmonious currently holds a 72 on Metacritic.

“We were working 80+ hour weeks. Some people were sleeping in their cars” said a Senior Engineer who requested to remain anonymous. “We had a running bet each day to see who would get a migraine first before lunch. The winner would get the sole Excedrin pill corporate is willing to pay for.”

Reviews of Harmonious noted that the game is “uninspired,” “relies heavily on overplayed story tropes,” and “has a combat system that is fun for the first 30 minutes, but becomes bland very quickly.”

Additional Jamtown Studios devs, who wished to remain anonymous, confirmed the working conditions required to receive the elusive C- grade.

“We had people collapsing in the halls,” said a Junior Artist. “In my area of the office, it wasn’t uncommon to hear someone scream in pain. It was their hand seizing up from overuse. You’d just be glad it wasn’t you and keep going.”

“We’d constantly get new feature requests from upper management or department heads and just pray they would change their mind again before we wasted any time working on them,” said a Producer on the gameplay team. “I just felt so bad for our QA Testers on the team too. You’d see them come in, but never see them leave.”

A former WWE Superstar has teased a massive debut in AEW tonight, with the ‘Big Business’ episode of AEW Dynamite set to take place.

Mercedes Mone, formerly known as Sasha Banks in WWE, took to her Instagram Stories to write ‘Bosston,’ a clear reference to the Big Business event which takes place tonight in, you guessed it, Boston.

AEW has been touting ‘Bo$$ton’ for some time in the build-up to the event, indicating to fans that it would be Mone debuting tonight…without outright saying it.

AEW News: Mercedes Mone teases debut tonight

This is pretty much the same tactic the company used when bringing in CM Punk back in 2021; teasing but never outright saying it until it happened.

Mone/Banks was a major star in WWE, and with her appearances in the likes of The Mandalorian, there’s a good chance that she could bring a pretty substantial audience with her to the Turner network.

Having said that, it is worth noting again that All Elite Wrestling nor Mercedes have outright said that they’re working together publicly, although Fightful did report a few months ago that Mone has been under contract for “quite some time.”

The ratings for this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite will most likely get a big bump too, with many anticipating that it will jump over the 1 million viewer mark for the first time in quite some time due to Mercedes’ anticipated debut.

Perfect Day in Silent Hill Ruined by Tourist and His Traumatic Past

SILENT HILL – A wonderful day about town came to a screeching halt as Benjamin Moore, a well-traveled everyman, drove through Silent Hill haunted by his traumatic past, residents confirmed.

According to eye-witness reports, blood curdling screams and a thick fog replaced the bird chirps and rays of sunshine that were making for a pretty normal day in this sleepy town.

“It’s just very inconsiderate to make your problems everyone else’s,’” local florist Patty Mills said, brandishing a shotgun and a windbreaker. “I’ve got problems too buddy, but you don’t see me ruining everyones’ day with fog and fetus monsters.”

Going against the grain, some locals are in support of Moore as he faces whatever is eating him.

Influencer turned WWE Superstar Logan Paul has called out an NBA Legend for a showdown at the WWE SummerSlam 2024 event.

Speaking during the latest episode of the ImPaulsive podcast, the WWE United States Champion was the first to reveal that SummerSlam would be taking place from Cleveland this year.

Cleveland is Logan and his brother Jake’s home, so having the event take place from the Cleveland Browns Stadium is clearly a big deal for both of them, with Jake likely to be making an appearance following his showdown with Mike Tyson.

Logan Paul vs LeBron James?

When Paul’s co-host on the podcast suggested LeBron James as an opponent, Paul indicated that he would “probably” be stepping in the ring with the basketball great.

Whilst we do not know if that is actually something the company is considering, it would be a massive get for one of the GOATs to enter the ring at a WWE Premium Live Event, even if he isn’t actually going to be wrestling Logan.

With WWE looking to put more of their PLE shows in bigger stadiums going forward, there is a very good chance that we’ll see more “local” stars appearing on said events, so getting the likes of LeBron would be a good way to push the show to a more mainstream audience and likely get WWE featured on the likes of SportsCenter etc.

Jonathan Majors Sentenced to One Year in DC Extended Universe

After being convicted of assault and harassment last year, former MCU star Jonathan Majors was officially sentenced to one year of starring in DC Extended Universe films today.

As part of his sentence, the actor will be expected to act in numerous projects featuring characters from the DC universe for the span of at least a year, as well as studio-mandated reshoots, promotional videos, and inevitable tax write-offs.

“Justice has been served,” Veronica Knight, district attorney, said on courthouse steps. “Mr. Majors will be away from society, thinking about the pain he caused while forced to shoot in the less successful superhero movies.”

Ex-Marvel director James Gunn said he was excited for the court-ordered addition to his team.

“I’ve got a plan for the DCU, and Mr. Majors fits right in,” Gunn said in a statement. “Maybe we’ll have him play Starro the Conqueror or Polka-Dot Man’s long-lost cousin.”

“I’d love to see him team up with Ezra Miller if possible,” said one fan who came to support Majors at the sentencing. “Innocent until proven guilty – and then thereafter as well – in my book.”

Dan Francis, the court-appointed film producer tasked with overseeing Majors’ sentence in the DCEU, spoke to reporters outside the courthouse. “I will ensure he serves every minute of his sentence,” Francis said. “He’ll be playing a wide range of characters, from obscure villains to forgotten sidekicks. We’re even considering him for the role of Bat-Mite, just to really drive home the punishment.”

Majors has declined any comment on his future career plans. Representations from Marvel say they’ve severely altered their future MCU projects in light of the actor’s sentence.

“We’re scrambling to find a replacement for Majors in our upcoming projects,” Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige admitted. “Although honestly I think as long as we shoot it right we can put pretty much anyone in a superhero outfit and we’ll get one of those weird public applause breaks at movie theaters across the country.”

At press time Judge Maxwell Thompson, who presided over the case, had one final comment as he left the courthouse. “I hope this sentence sends a clear message to Hollywood,” Thompson said. “If you commit a crime, the long arm of the law will find you and make you do a cameo in Shazam: Fury of The Gods.”

This patch brings the promised features of Sprint 1 on our latest Roadmap. It includes a massive update to combat quality of life and fluidity, an overhaul of mount stamina to make traveling the world more seamless, rideable bears and a new dungeon has appeared somewhere in Myrland.
That’s not all however! This is one of our most significant and impactful patches when it comes to gameplay changes.

  • Equipped items in the actionbar are now highlighted. Items equipped in your secondary weapon set have a softer highlight.
  • The slots in the secondary set are considered new equipment slots and are treated the same way as the primary set when updating stats like weight calculations.
  • You can now drag-drop equipment into their dedicated slots to replace them.
  • Changing combat mode is now faster.
  • Changing combat mode or equipment has a 1 second cooldown for changing again.
  • The user can start using weapons 1 second after entering combat mode or switching weapons.
  • Reduced the time it takes to start eating & drinking from combat mode from 2s to 1.5s.

 

Mortal Online 2 Update Combat Input Queueing

  • You can now hold down a combat input during an action and the input will register as soon as your current action has ended. This applies to melee, archery and the magic ‘Cast Last Spell’ / ‘Cast Last Spell Self’ keybinds. This allows you to do things such as holding your block keybind while mid swing, to automatically start blocking when your swing has ended, as well as cast a spell and hold down your “Cast Last Spell” keybind to automatically cast the spell repeatedly while holding the key.
  • Added a new toggle setting in the Gameplay settings tab called “Feint and Block”, which when active will allow you to tap your block keybind to feint while you are charging a swing, or block while idle.
  • You can now hold down your attack keybind and tap the Feint key to auto Feint and start a new attack without releasing your attack keybind.
  • Holding the Feint keybind will now prevent a new attack from starting until it is released.
  • You can now charge an attack from the blocking state.
  • Added a setting in the Gameplay panel for enabling Legacy combat for players who do not want to enable the input queue system.

  • You can now hold 50 arrows in your quiver, up from 25.
  • Improved responsiveness with bows by fixing a one frame mismatch between the crosshair and the release of the arrow.

  • You can now change the target mode of a spell mid charge/casting by pressing “Cast Last Spell” for Target cast and “Self Cast” for Self cast.
  • The crosshair will now show if the spell you are casting is targeting yourself or someone else.
  • Arms are now swaying a bit while moving and casting spells, the same animation as with melee weapons. This is only visual and does not affect aiming.

  • Weapon durability now affects damage if below 20% durability, down from 50%. There’s also a more noticeable change in damage once the threshold is passed.
  • Updated the animations and visual effects for blocks and parries to make them easier to see.
  • Parry effects should no longer end up outside the screen for larger weapons.
  • Shields now gain stamina when successfully parrying. The amount of stamina gained scales with shield weight, where lighter shields gain more stamina than heavy shields.
  • The time a swing is released is now used to define if a hit should get parry attack bonus damage. This should fix the issue of heavier and slower weapons not dealing full damage after a parry.

  • Mounts now all regenerate stamina at the same rate.

  • Mount swim speed & stamina regeneration is now 1/4 of what it’s on land.
  • Mounts have been rebalanced and have different maximum stamina amounts.
  • Swift riding now reduces stamina degeneration by 5%(which only happens during boost mode).
  • Horse ability ‘Spur On’ now regenerates 100 stamina per second and lasts 2 seconds.
  • Fixed a bug that made melee weapons do way more damage than expected when used on mounts. This was common when jousting with lances.
  • Fixed issue that made lances hit twice from a mount sometimes.

  • The Push action now costs 10 stamina.
  • Added an extra +10kg of carry weight for everyone.

  • Unarmed combat now plays a swing sound.
  • Weapon swings now have a subtle trail effect.
  • Improved the hit effects when hitting a training dummy.
  • Player arms will now avoid intersecting with walls and other characters in first person view.
  • You are now forced out of combat mode if you try to use an unsupported weapon.
  • Fixed a bug where the delay from eating food/drinking potions could be bypassed in combat mode by spamming the consume action.
  • Fixed a bug in mercy mode where the “Hold R to suicide” prompt would flash repeatedly.

  • Fixed an issue allowing members of the same rank to promote/demote each other.

  • Black Bears, Brown Bears, White Bears and undead versions from rituals are now mountable except for young bears.
  • Updated the appearance for bear bags to work with mounted players. This update affects the White, Black and Brown Bears and their young, adult and alpha stages.
  • Adjusted movement animations for bears to work better for mounted players.
  • Fixed issue where the movement animations for some bears were sliding on the ground.

  • Remade all blood and hit effects in the game.
  • Improved effects and feedback when executing humanoids.
  • Humanoids that get executed with an arrow to the head now react more violently.
  • Humanoids now show an increasing amount of blood on their body the lower their health is.
  • You now get blood added to your body when you execute something or someone.

  • Increased attack distance of the Molva to avoid it standing inside you.
  • Fixed issue where mounts would bob up and down quickly in water when near the surface level.

Mortal Online 2 Update Frame Generation

  • Added a new window for Frame Generation Settings in the video settings tab with a detailed explanation for each frame generation setting.
  • Frame Generation can now be turned off completely in the engine and is the default setting. This is recommended for users experiencing crashes with frame generation. Frame Generation was previously forced to AMD or NVIDIA. The previous Frame Generation toggle only enabled the generation but did not disable it in the engine.
  • Some users experience GPU crashes with AMD FSR3 Frame Generation. This issue affects multiple games and is not exclusive to Mortal Online 2. Please try the new Frame Generation settings under the AMD method. The crash dumps we receive do not have enough information for us or the team at AMD to isolate the issue. We would be grateful for any feedback by those who are affected in the community.

 

Mortal Online 2 Update Game Performance

  • Force engine garbage collection on main map transitions to ensure the UObject count does not explode from logging out and back into the game. Large UObject counts are bad and cause game hitches during garbage collection and can even crash the game if the UObject count gets too large.
  • Some minor adjustments to level streaming performance.
  • Some minor animation optimizations to improve CPU performance.

 

Mortal Online 2 Update Server and Networking

  • Optimized server code for auto-stacking items when you pick up a new item.
  • Fixed issue that would create small spikes of delay on certain parts of the server.

 

Mortal Online 2 Update Known Issues

  • Some parts of the landscape might turn invisible, but they’re still there. We’re waiting on Unreal Engine 5.4 to fix this.
  • We are aware of the login issue that some players are experiencing and are focusing on getting it fixed in the coming days with a hotfix.
  • 3rd person player gore is currently not showing as intended, meaning you will not see limbs fall of from another player unless you killed him/her. It does however work for AI.
