WWE News: Tonga Loa made his debut alongside The Bloodline at WWE Backlash 2024, helping his brother Tama Tonga to win.

Fans have been reacting to the shock debut whilst the show has gone on air, with one bringing up the infamous NJPW footage of Loa’s “offence” on former New Japan star Kazuchika Okada.

Although New Japan is renowned for the Strong Style of pro wrestling, the style that Loa used against Okada during a G1 Climax 33 match was pretty…well, soft.

WWE News: Fans RIP into Michael Cole for New Japan Pro Wrestling “Knowledge”

WWE News: Backlash 2024 is currently taking place from Lyon, France, and fans have noticed a laughable comment from Michael Cole on commentary.

Tama Tonga and Solo Sikoa faced Randy Orton and Kevin Owens in the opening match of the night, and Cole mentioned Bullet Club and how Tama Tonga had faced the likes of EVIL back in New Japan.

Fightful’s Jeremy Lambert noted it during the broadcast and tweeted: “Michael Cole just said “great matches with the likes of EVIL” and you know he’s just reading cagematch and didn’t watch that sh*t.”

Fans would then echo his sentiments, absolutely RIPPING into Cole for claiming that any match featuring EVIL taking on Tama Tonga could be anything resembling ‘great.’

A former New Japan Pro Wrestling Tag Team Champion made his debut at the WWE Backlash 2024 event tonight from Lyon, France.

Tanga Loa, brother and tag team partner of Bloodline member Tama Tonga made his debut on the show after interrupting a pinfall during the Randy Owen/Kevin Owens vs Tama Tonga and Solo Sikoa match.

The former IWGP Tag Team Champion, trained by Bubba Ray Dudley & D-Von Dudley, is now part of one of the biggest storylines in the company.

His accolades alongside Tama and the Bullet Club are numerous, including the following:

  • IWGP Tag Team Championship (7 times) – with Tama Tonga
  • NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championship (3 times) – with Bad Luck Fale and Tama Tonga (2), and Taiji Ishimori and Tama Tonga (1)

Owens would enter the arena first to a massive reaction from the crowd in Lyon, France, followed by Randy Orton getting serenaded to the ring by the crowd singing ‘Voices.’

Kevin Owens would end up hitting a top rope Brainbuster on Tama Tonga THROUGH CHAIRS because the three count was stopped by TONGA LOA!?

Solo would then get the win after hitting the Samoan Spike on Owens.
