In a second year with what seems like unending top-shelf game releases, yet another major title is coming out soon, namely Dragon’s Dogma 2. Given its pedigree and coming from Capcom, we can expect nothing but greatness, but can we at least try it out a little first maybe? Let’s find out.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 Is There A Demo?
Not quite. The Dragon’s Dogma 2 “demo” that has been floating around for the past few days, isn’t any sort of game per se. It’s nothing more than the character creation tool for the purpose of fashioning an ‘Arisen’, which is your player-character, as well as a primary ‘Pawn’, which are the AI-controlled party members that will intelligently interact with you.
This free Character Creator & Storage is available on all the same platforms where the full game is slated for release, and is good for holding up to 5 Arisen and 5 Pawn creations for eventual transfer into the game.
There are some bugs in the demo according to posts on various forums, with consistent crashing being a persistent complaint. Tip: if you experience repeated crashes on PC, simply unplug your controller and use mouse and keyboard instead.

This is of course quite disappointing, especially given the technical issues with the non-game demo itself, and Capcom’s overall record with launches on PC.
It’s unlikely that any sort of demo will ever be released either, given the open-world nature of the game.
