SPACE STATIONS

  • Space stations have been completely overhauled and refreshed.
  • Station exteriors now come in a huge array of procedurally generated shapes and colours, as well as at an increased scale.

  • The fleet commander may seek your advice in dealing with a tricky situation, or may even request direct assistance.
  • Your decisions at these moments, or your efforts in coming to the aid of your fleet, have a direct impact on the outcome and rewards for your fleet missions.
  • Fixed a number of text issues when using the captain’s terminal on a frigate.
  • The player’s torch is no longer auto-activated when boarding a frigate.
  • The frigate teleporter can no longer be triggered while the frigate is away on a mission.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause asteroid flickering when warping to a system that contains a frigate fleet.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented outlaw frigates that are not away on a mission from being warped in to defend the player when under attack by hostile starships.
  • Nearby fleets will now always deploy fighters to assist the player in combat, even if they are on a mission.
  • When landing on an outlaw frigate, the captain will now greet you with an appropriate message.

 

STARSHIP CUSTOMISATION

  • A new interaction, the Starship Fabricator, has been added to the space station.
  • The fabricator allows you to build your own custom fighter, hauler or explorer starship.
  • When salvaging a ship, the process can now be targeted at specific visuals, e.g. reclaiming the wings or thruster array specifically. These harvested components can then be combined to create a brand-new ship.
  • Purchase starship reactors from space station technology merchants to determine the stats and class of your new starship.
  • The fabricator also allows you to choose unique colour and paint styles for your new ship.
  • Starships salvaged from the wild or purchased from another pilot benefit from universal authentication, granting them a bonus to future trade-in values.

 

USER INTERFACE

  • The splash screen and mode select screens have been visually overhauled.
  • The options screens have been tweaked for visual clarity.
  • The in-game patch notes have had a visual upgrade.
  • Purchase and decline buttons in various UI pages have been re-styled.
  • The compare and purchase screens have been tweaked for clarity.
  • When using “Transfer More” to add items to a slot, the popup will now only show valid items.
  • When a mission location is marked, the icon will now briefly start in the centre of the screen before moving to its usual position, making it easier to track off-screen locations.

TRADING, REPUTATION AND GUILDS

  • Space station technology merchants now have a wider range of upgrades, with more high quality modules available.
  • Space station technology merchants now offer a price discount based on your standing with their faction.
  • The starship Economy Scanner can now be activated from the ship’s inventory as well as from the quick menu.
  • The Economy Scanner can now detect nearby trade surges, in addition to detecting planetary outposts.
  • Trade surges are time-limited events in nearby systems that offer an increased profit margin on key goods. Find a source of the required trade items to take advantage of these surges.
  • A system’s economy description on the galaxy map now uses a consistent label to describe the goods they buy and sell.
  • The guild envoys for the Merchants, Mercenaries and Explorers Guilds now offer a wide selection of items to their members.
  • Find guild envoys aboard space stations.
  • Each envoy offers a range of free supplies and heavily discounted items, with eligibility based on your current standing with their guild. The exact items vary from system to system but are tailored to each specific guild.
  • Envoys will also accept donations to guild supplies, in exchange for increasing your standing with their guild.
  • Vanquished pirate starships now yield Pirate Transponders, which can be donated to the Mercenaries Guild for a boost to standing.
  • The clarity and presentation of the buttons to view journey milestones and faction standing within the catalogue have been improved.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the catalogue system standing button to lead to the wrong page.
  • A number of new alien words have been added, ready to learn and translate.
  • The trade terminal found on space stations now has a clearer name and subtitle.

 

BASE PARTS

  • A large number of new base parts have been added, based on the decoration style of the space station.
  • Research these parts with salvaged data at the construction research terminal on the Space Anomaly.

FBI Announces They Have Sufficient Evidence to Hire P Diddy as Nickelodeon Showrunner

LOS ANGELES — After carrying out a search warrant of his Los Angeles mansion over sex trafficking charges, the FBI announced they have enough evidence to hire Sean “Diddy” Combs as a Nickelodeon Showrunner

Special Agent Dan Wexler held a press conference after the raid and detailed the shocking revelations.

“While executing the search warrant against Mr. Comb’s home, we found what we believed to be sufficient evidence of his qualification to be in charge of children’s programming at Nickelodeon,” said Wexler. “What we saw inside that house was a level of depravity that made me question my faith and the overall purpose of life. Based on what we found, he may be one of the most qualified people to put in a position of power at Nickelodeon.”

Shelley Persaud, a representative of Nickelodeon confirmed that Diddy has already accepted a job at the studio.

“He definitely has some big shoes to fill, but given his vast prior experience, I think he will adapt well to the role. With the lack of accountability for predators in this industry, there are so many people still here from the last rounds of incidents that will help show him the ropes, if he needs it,” said Persaud.

Persaud couldn’t say the exact show that Diddy will work on but did offer some details.

“I can’t say much but I can tell you that kids who have no idea the subtext or double meaning of what’s going on are going to love it. And when they grow up they’re going to love rewatching it to discover how weird and gross it all was to be in a kids’ show. They’re going to need to watch so many TikToks of Steve from Blue’s Clues after this one.”

At press time, Nickelodeon announced there is currently a bidding war on the documentary that will be made about the show Diddy is put in charge of.

Coming in hot for all platforms, this hotfix aims to continue improving your Baldur’s Gate 3 experience, and addresses several crashes and bugs. The tradespeople of Baldur’s Gate have also had a word with our people, and we both agree that container-based antics, while amusing, are damaging the economy. So in this update we’ve fixed several bugs with buying and selling. No more free lunches!

  • Fixed equipped items blocked by shapeshifting being tradable, allowing you to get paid even if the items don't transfer to the trader's inventory.

  • Fixed clubs from the Moonrise Towers Prison getting automatically equipped when you picked them up.

  • Fixed Balthazar not finishing his turn when he is too far from the Colony ritual spot to reach it in one turn.
  • Fixed a bug where a civilian would call for help and a group of Flaming Fists would appear, but instead of moving to the crime scene, they would just stand where they were spawned.

South Park Shows Commitment to Centrism With 5/10 Game

LOS ANGELES — The new South Park game Snow Day offers fans an accurate embodiment of the series’s famed social commentary skewering both sides of every issue by being a solid five out of ten. 

South Park co-creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker have praised the game for its commitment to their centrism.

“It took a long time, but we finally perfected the formula. We started out with horrible video games, like the ones on the Nintendo 64. Total garbage. Then we had some really good games with The Stick of Truth and The Fractured But Whole,” explained South Park co-creator Matt Stone

“Yes, but when you think about it, aren’t good games just as bad as bad games?” added fellow co-creator Trey Parker. “I mean, sure, bad games are bad, but good games … they’re just so smug and annoying about how good they are! ‘Oh, look at me! I’m a good game! I’m fun to play! I’m so much better than you!’” he said, shifting into the whiny voice he uses to impersonate every celebrity he doesn’t like.

“Yeah, I hate bad games, but I really fucking hate good games,” agreed Stone. “We wanted to make sure we really got the South Park experience right this time. We’ve always believed in making fun of everybody, so this game needed to be middle of the road, dead center. Not fully committing to being bad and not fully committing to being good. That’s what South Park is all about.”

Fans of the show like Jordan Daniels are happy to see the new game remain faithful to the show.

“The last two games were excellent but they were made years ago. It’s nice to see that this new one is just kind of whatever because that’s such a great way to remain faithful to the current era of the show.”

Neuralink Patient Miraculously Nuked by Gandhi in Civilization VI

CHICAGO The first human trial of Neuralink’s brain implant appears to be a success as 29-year-old implant recipient Noland Arbaugh confirmed that he used his mind to miraculously get nuked by Gandhi in an all-night session of Civilization VI.

Arbaugh went over the session in a telepathically sent message.

“Before Neuralink, I needed a friend to help me play Civ VI and he was never willing to build cities close enough to India’s territory to get Gandhi to aggro,” explained Arbaugh, who is a quadriplegic as a result of a diving accident. “Thanks to Elon Musk and Neuralink, I have a physical miracle sitting in my head that allows me to watch one of the world’s greatest civil rights activists and practitioners of nonviolent resistance deploy his arsenal of nuclear warheads against me.”

In a video posted on X, Arbaugh can be seen playing computer chess, controlling the game with his brain’s own signals via the Neuralink implant. Musk admits that while he is thrilled that Arbaugh was using the white pieces, the technology is still in its infancy.

“Take Civilization VI, for example,” Musk explained. “Though Animal Husbandry is an important early-game technology, unlike real life Neuralink can’t just magically have you kill thousands of animals in technological trials. It can, however, get you one step closer to seeing your civilization’s borders overrun after Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi implements his Nuke Happy hidden agenda.”

When asked for comment on this world-changing invention, Gandhi seemed to mistake this as hostility.

“Please, friend, move your soldiers from my borders. They make a peaceful man like me nervous,” Gandhi said, adding, “If you are so bloodthirsty, maybe it is better to put an end to your leadership.”

At press time, Arbaugh was enjoying another game of Civilization, though confused as to why Neuralink would only allow him to try to achieve Cultural Victory with Ludwig II and the Germans.

First Neuralink Patient Telepathically Forcing Friends to Play Civ 6 with Him

CHICAGO – Noland Arbaugh, the first human recipient of a Neuralink brain implant, has gained the ability to communicate telepathically and his friends confirmed he’s using his new found gift to force them into multiplayer matches of Sid Meier’s Civilization 6.

Chris Higgins, a longtime friend of Arbaugh’s and an avid gamer, confirmed the telepathic harassment in a recent interview.

“It was weird at first, but Noland would only reach out once a week to play. I jumped in of course because who could pass up some good Civ 6,” Higgins said as he straightened the tin foil on his head. “But then Noland went overboard. ‘Come play Civ 6’ rang through my head morning, day, and night. I would be playing Helldivers with some other friends and Civ 6 would just creep into my brain out of nowhere.”

Another member of the friend group, Glenn Zimmerman, corroborated Higgins allegations against Arbaugh in a gut-wrenching interview.

“Please make it stop, Noland. I don’t want to play Civ 6 anymore.” Zimmerman said in tears to anyone within earshot. “I’d be happy to play other games with you. How about chess? Helldivers? Please, I’ll even suck it up and play AoE2, please just no more Civ 6. I am just a mortal man. I can only take so much punishment.”

Arbaugh, denying the allegations, creeped into my thoughts to share his side of the story.

“What you have to understand is that I’m not forcing these guys to do anything. They want to play Civ 6 with me” Arbaughs voice rang through my head. “ I only entered their minds because they don’t return my text and have all set their Discord status to Do Not Disturb. And to be honest, we don’t have to play Civ 6. I would be happy to play any other games they want to play, but all they want to play now is Civ 6. I can’t blame them though, it is my favorite game.”

At press time my urge to play Sid Meier’s Civilization 6 had driven me to purchase the game on steam. 

 

Rumored Xbox Handheld Also Rumored to Become PlayStation Handheld

The widely rumored Xbox Handheld will eventually become a PlayStation handheld after a brief period of exclusivity, sources who spoke on the condition of anonymity said.

Despite not yet being formally announced, inside sources claim that plans are already in place for the Xbox Handheld to eventually also be a PlayStation handheld.

“The idea right now is for the handheld to exclusively play Xbox games for about a year, maybe a little longer. After such time the device will then also be able to play PlayStation games,” said a Microsoft employee who wished to remain anonymous. “In this day and age, exclusivity doesn’t make sense for a handheld. Handheld players leave their homes frequently and exclusives are only really important for those who don’t.”

When asked about the handheld Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer couldn’t comment directly but did have this to say.

“Whether we may or may not be making a handheld I can’t say. What I can say is that Xbox is committed to all gamers regardless of which games you play or what devices you play on. We are so much more than just one device, we’re an ecosystem and we are committed to indoctrinating as many people as possible into that ecosystem. Whether you play our 3 games or PlayStation’s 5 games.”

Xbox fans were not pleased upon hearing the handheld will also eventually play PlayStation games.

“I was really looking forward to an Xbox handheld but not anymore,” said Xbox console war veteran Jim Stotch in a Reddit thread. “For this to play Xbox games and PlayStation games is a slap in the face to all the loyal Xbox fans who stuck with the brand through all the troubled times. I feel betrayed. This is the worst thing that’s ever happened to me.” 

PlayStation fans aren’t thrilled either.

“It’s an insult for our beautiful, sexy games to be played on an Xbox device,” said PlayStation console war veteran Mark Pepper in a different Reddit thread. “I’ll stick with my Playstation Portal and remain in my mom’s house thank you very much”

At press time, gamers interested in a handheld that plays Xbox and PlayStation games have been buying Steam Decks.

Enshrouded Update Patch Notes V0.7.1.0 Mar 26

Although there have been patches and hotfixes for Enshrouded over the last two odd months since its release, this March 26, 2024 update V0.7.1.0 is the first major release for the game. This marks the first step taken on the roadmap laid out earlier in the month.

Enshrouded: Hollow Halls Update

This update name actually very hard to pronounce for us.
Greetings, Flameborn!
Our first update is finally here! Just a few weeks ago we were releasing our first roadmap, and now we’re already ticking a bunch of these boxes… As a team, it feels good! Our goal for each update is to include new content, new features, improvements to existing features, as well as the usual fixes and polish.
The biggest part of the update is undoubtedly the Hollow Halls. You can read more on them below, but a word of advice before you proceed: the encounters will test your mettle and we strongly recommend preparing well and bringing your best food items, as well as campfires to rest during your exploration. It is possible to run these as a solo player, but it might be a very challenging experience, and we recommend bringing some friends along. If you team up with strangers, remember that you can create a backup of your save files. Of course since we're in Early Access, we are very eager to hear your thoughts on the Hollow Halls. Do let us know what you think once you've given them a try!

Enshrouded Patch Notes CHANGELOG FOR UPDATE #1- V 0.7.1.0

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Each biome has a new playable area called the “Hollow Halls”, with enemies and challenges corresponding to the level of the biome. These daunting new dungeons come with a multitude of new challenges and exciting rewards.
    • New quests leading through the new content. Talk to the Alchemist to get started.
    • New enemies await you in the depths.
    • A new survivor can be discovered in the Hollow Halls.
    • Unlock a new crafting station with new recipes.
    • New weapons, building blocks, furniture, decorative props and more can be found.
  • The 60hz issue has been solved, providing a smooth experience on higher framerates.
  • Emily the farmer now offers potted plants to everyone who wants to add that little extra bit of color to the porch. Make sure that the base has access to a kiln to craft those pots!
  • Cade the Carpenter now offers a new set of round doors and windows.
  • The seedbed workstation now allows growing additional tree seedlings. Many trees received new growing stages.
  • Player characters can now sit on furniture such as chairs, benches, thrones, toilets.
  • The town of Willow Crush in the Revelwoods has been completely reworked. and some other areas have been improved.

 

QUALITY OF LIFE IMPROVEMENTS

  • Improved support for stack splitting in the backpack and chests. The size of the split stacks can now be selected freely.
  • Content of magical chests can now be used in crafting stations.
  • The loot menu has been reworked to allow faster and more convenient collection of loot.
  • Items can now be crafted in stacks.
  • Sending items to other players now has a more convenient menu. There is now a warning message if the backpack of the receiver is already full.
  • A new ping function on the world map allows pointing other players in a multiplayer session to a specific area.
  • Servers can now be searched and favorited via IP in the server browser.
  • The keys / buttons for jumping and gliding can now be mapped individually. By default, the gliding is still mapped to the same key / button as jumping. If a different key is preferred, we recommend for example [CTRL] on keyboard and [B]/[○] on controller.

 

TECHNICAL IMPROVEMENTS & STABILITY

  • Updating the game on Steam has been reworked to allow faster updates in the future. Previously, every update, no matter how big, resulted in the patching of the complete 30 GB game data on the hard drive. Now only the affected areas will be patched. This change requires the complete download this one time and will only be noticeably faster for future updates.
  • Save data stability has been improved further. As an additional security layer, the game now automatically creates backups of the save data in periodic intervals. Should a save file become unreadable for any reason, a previous version will be loaded.

 

RENDERING AND PERFORMANCE

  • Performance has been improved further. As always, performance and stability will remain a main focus while moving forward.
  • Support for Nvidia Reflex has been added. It can be switched on and off in the graphical settings if the used hardware supports the feature.
  • Added a new setting to the graphical settings to control the sharpness of the image.
  • Added a new setting to switch contact shadows on and off.
  • Added an option to switch off optional micro spiders. The big spiders are still there though, piloted by tiny spiders inside their brain.

 

GAMEPLAY

  • Added more shields into the progression.
  • The Multishot skill no longer consumes multiple arrows when special arrows are selected. This made the skill too expensive overall. Sorry about all this time spent farming twigs.
  • Update the functionality of the leech-stat, e.g. on the “Ring of Endless Life”. It now has a chance to convert a percentage of the damage dealt to enemies into health for the player.
  • The player skill Bloodletting is no longer triggered by Light Burst and Acid Cone.
  • Fixed an issue that caused too high critical damage for the Acid Cone spell.
  • An incorrect consumption of mana was fixed when using both skills Begone and Sun Aura. Similarly, Begone combined with traps no longer causes mana consumption.
  • Fixed an issue with Blood Rage caused by traps.
  • Fixed incorrect application of stun in multiplayer when using the Terror skill.
  • The companion created by the Necromancer skill now follows the player around more actively.
  • Fixed an issue where the Updraft skill could be triggered multiple times per glider flight. You're not supposed to be able to fly forever, no. You're not Jonathan Livingstone Seagull.
  • The skill Breach is no longer triggered with arrows.
  • Healing another player with Water Aura no longer backfires as damage when that player has Counterstrike.
  • The skill Shell Shock now works as described, which we can all agree is probably for the best.
  • Warden and Tower Aura no longer trigger while the player is down.
  • When successfully overpowering enemies, the Merciless Attack can now be triggered faster.
  • Small tweaks to durability of the various weapon types. Melee weapons lose durability slightly slower, wands slightly faster. Improved durability for rarer items.
  • Reaching ledges at the intended jump height is slightly more forgiving.
  • Fixed an issue where arrow and spell ammunition couldn't be cycled properly when using the [Q] or [LT] shortcut with certain items selected in the action bar.
  • Fixed an issue where action bar and ammunition selection could skip slots on higher frame rates.
  • Fixed an issue where eternal spells could be used up when simultaneously trying to throw explosive powder balls.
  • Fixed instances where sounds caused by skills or enemies could be heard by everyone in the party regardless of distance.
  • Fixed an issue with the Sicklescythe that sometimes got stuck in a wall after teleporting.
  • Loot from flying enemies spawns correctly on the ground now.
  • Enemies now better find their way through door frames and similar spaces.
  • Enemies and wildlife now use a higher resolution grid for pathfinding.
  • Improved steering behavior for enemies and wildlife.
  • Improved player camera behavior so it behaves less erratic when interacting with enemies.
  • Improved enemy jump behavior. You thought you were safe? Think again.
  • Enemies can now block wand projectiles.
  • Wand projectiles no longer auto-target bear traps.
  • Using the wand to destroy props is easier now. Before, the homing feature of wand projectiles didn’t work correctly on non-enemy objects.
  • Fixed some cases where hitting the heads of enemies with arrows resulted in too low damage values.
  • The game now prohibits using the fast travel function while falling. You can't magic your way away from gravity.
  • Fixed an issue where interaction prompts were shown even though the interaction wasn't available (e.g. when sleeping).
  • Fixed an issue where players could sit and regenerate stamina while falling
  • Improved the jumping behavior while sliding down mud slopes. The player has now stronger forward momentum.
  • Fixed several issues where the glider would be triggered unintentionally when trying to jump.
  • Fixed a glitch that allowed getting catapulted into the air at beds.
  • Fixed a glitch where the player could gain altitude by entering and cancelling the glider. Not. A. Seagull!
  • Fixed a stamina issue with the Hawk Boots.
  • The game now shows correct numbers when the player gains mana or stamina.
  • Being affected by damage-over-time doesn't cancel the grappling hook, climbing walls and the glider anymore--discrete hits still do. This will come in handy for dungeons, just saying.
  • Fixed several clipping issues for armor pieces.
  • Salvaging high rarity items in chests now works correctly.

 

GAME WORLD

  • Ground fog is no longer appearing in the player base, as the area is protected by the flame.
  • Fixed many minor issues with floating objects or other similar visual glitches in points of interest.
  • Fixed the incorrect appearance and recipes for the “Desert Flower”.
  • New music playlist for Pikesmead´s Reach.
  • New music playlist for combat in Shroud areas.
  • Several issues with ambient sounds have been fixed.
  • Fixed an issue with the doors in Spires when teleporting away and returning while halfway through the progress.
  • Flame shrines now have a small ambient flame to indicate that the flame will regrow over time when the spark has been collected.
  • Fixed a quest marker near the Southern Caravan area that remained as question mark even after exploring the area.

 

CRAFTING, BUILDING & TERRAFORMING

  • The visualization of the borders of the player base works now better with combined areas of several flame altars, and in cases where no-build areas are intersecting into the base.
  • Fixed an issue that terrain voxel would sometimes become transparent when building too close to the upper limit of the playable area.
  • Updated some fireplaces that didn’t offer the option for cooking or didn’t give warmth for the resting buff.
  • Fixed another instance of incorrectly saved growth state of plants such as berry bushes in the player base.
  • Added a quest for the “Spinning Wheel” to increase the visibility of the workstation.
  • It is now possible to craft flower soil with Emily. Flower soil lets flowers grow faster than regular soil.
  • Improved alignment of several double doors to better fit into the voxel grid.
  • Fixed a rare issue where build building shapes could be placed in a way that made it impossible to dismantle them as a whole.
  • Fixed an issue where it was possible to build in margins of certain no-build-and-no-save zones.
  • Hard wood is now used in additional recipes.
  • Fixed an issue where objects could be dismantled inadvertently through walls, while at the same time interfering with seedling placement. Gardening shouldn't be a home wrecker.
  • Allow undo function while building hammer is selected but building menu is closed.
  • Fixed a few instances where no-build-zones on beds were misaligned.
  • Fixed an issue where terraforming VFX were missing in certain situations.

 

USER INTERFACE / LOCALIZATION

  • The character details screen has been updated and many stats have been improved or renamed to add more clarity about gameplay effects.
  • Reduced the visual clutter of enemy and player health bars. Player health bars only show up when players receive damage, damage numbers are only shown per player. Enemy stun bar is hidden when the value is 0. For “critter”-type enemies the health bar is hidden unless they receive damage.
  • Damage numbers on enemies are now shown closer to the health bar.
  • Mana gain is now shown as values similar to health. Stamina gain is always displayed even if the stamina is consumed right away, e.g. by sprinting.
  • Fixed several typos or text inconsistencies brought up by the community. Thank you very much for bringing these to our attention!
  • The current server load is now correctly showing when playing alone on a dedicated server.
  • Tweaked the custom map marker menu.
  • Fixed an issue with location icons vanishing on the world map. Previously affected save games will get fixed after saving and reloading once.
  • Fixed cases where drop-down menus would exit the screen if opened too close to the screen border.
  • Improved wording of several error messages.
  • Disabled the “Please update graphics cards driver”-message for older AMD graphics cards.
  • Restored the charging progress indicator for staff spells.
  • Fixed an issue for very long passwords in multiplayer sessions.
  • Fixed several items that did not lose the “New” marker after selecting them.

Update On WWE NXT Superstars Getting Main Roster Callups Soon

There are two major WWE NXT Superstars who could be getting a move to the main roster of the company in the near future.

According to a new report from Fightful Select, Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams are making waves and are potentially going to be brought up to continue their ongoing feud on RAW or SmackDown.

“One source told Fightful Select that Carmelo has been set for his main roster call-up since prior to the Royal Rumble and is expected to move up to the main roster full-time in the summer” the site reported.

“With regards to Trick Williams, officials took notice of the reaction Williams got in his surprise SmackDown appearance back in January. There have been pitches for the pair to continue their rivalry on the main roster after Stand And Deliver, but Williams’ plans past the Premium Live Event remain unclear” Fightful added.

WWE NXT Superstars Making Waves

Fightful’s Corey Brennan also revealed that the company are likely going to put Trick vs Carmelo in the main event slot of the upcoming Stand and Deliver show on WrestleMania weekend:

“Multiple sources in NXT have told Corey Brennan of Fightful Select that the current plan is for the Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes match at Stand And Deliver to main event the show.

“While it has not been locked in and the main event could still go to Ilja Dragunov and Tony D’Angelo, officials are pushing for the heated storyline to get the spotlight” it was claimed.
