Gamers wanting to install the game and immediately try and grab a Relay Ticket will be a bit disappointed. Once you make your way through the game and reach the Plaza in Somniel, you will receive a Relay Ticket every 24 hours when going back to the Plaza. Sadly, the daily refresh is the only consistent way of obtaining new Relay Tickets in Fire Emblem Engage. Aside from this, there are other temporary ways of receiving more Relay Tickets through amiibos.

By scanning Fire Emblem amiibos, players are able to earn special costumes, music tracks, and most importantly for your purposes, Relay Tickets. It’s unsure how many tickets you obtain from each amiibo you scan, but more tickets means more chances to try out the Tower of Trials. Located on the south side of Somniel, the Tower of Trials unlocks after completing chapter 6 and opens up a multiplayer mode that you can use Relay Tickets for. This mode, called Relay Trials, allows you and other players to participate in a private or public cooperative multiplayer mode.

One of the new ways of bringing power to the forefront in Fire Emblem Engage revolves around Emblem Rings, in which returning characters from old Fire Emblem games return and assist members of your squad. Here is a list of all the returning characters from previous Fire Emblem games that arrive through the Emblem Rings in Fire Emblem Engage.

Each Fire Emblem game has an aspect of power characters can use, and Fire Emblem Engage has Emblem Rings. These items contain a ghostly echo of a previous hero from the Fire Emblem franchise, allowing the player to talk to them and use their strength against their enemies.

Here is a list of all the Emblem Ring characters and their origins in the franchise:

  • Marth (Ring of the Hero-King): The kindhearted blue-haired leader from the first game in the franchise, Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light
  • Celica (Ring of the Caring Princess): The refined but stoic red-haired protagonist from the second game in the franchise, Fire Emblem Gaiden and its recent remake Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia
  • Sigurd (Ring of the Holy Knight): The first Lord in the series mounted on a horse, this blue-haired noble is the protagonist from the fourth game in the franchise, Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War

Funnily enough, knowing she used Marth as an alias in the game due to her ancestry, she now shares a game with him in the main franchise.
  • Corrin (Ring of the Crux of Fate): The silver-haired part-dragon protagonist from the fourteenth game in the franchise, Fire Emblem Fates. Only Corrin’s female form is in Fire Emblem Engage, despite that Corrin can be either gender in the original game.
  • Byleth (Ring of the Instructor): The near-emotionless teacher and protagonist from the sixteenth game in the franchise, the recent Fire Emblem: Three Houses, and the antagonist from the spin-off Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. Only Byleth’s male form is in Fire Emblem Engage, similar to Corrin’s female form.

The latest Fire Emblem title, Fire Emblem Engage, has some lengthy battle animations, and this can really get frustrating at times. Although they are extremely pretty and detailed, each animation can take quite a bit of time. Each individual character and Emblem have their own animations, showcasing their attacks each turn.

While cool at first, as you approach later battles in the game, this can make battles stretch on far longer than they would otherwise. How to Turn Off Battle Animations in Fire Emblem Engage

Turning off battle animations in Engage is quite simple. If you want to turn this setting off, follow these steps below:

  • To access this setting, you’ll first want to head over to the menu. Press the + button anywhere in the game to access this.
  • Scroll down to the System menu. Select A on this menu to proceed.
  • Next, scroll down and select the Settings submenu. The setting we need to turn off is located in here.
  • At the top, you’ll see a setting titled “Combat Animations”. You want to check this to off instead of on.

That’s it! It really is that simple to turn off battle animations in Fire Emblem Engage. Doing this will really help battles speed up, with long animations going away in favor of quick damage numbers. If you’re a fan of the battle animations, it’s always an option to keep them. However, do keep in mind your battles might end up taking way longer.

Fire Emblem Engage Weapon Guide: Upgrade Weapons Faster

Fire Emblem Engage has just launched, with players already seeking out the fastest ways to upgrade their weapons to keep their units as well-equipped as possible. Finding the stronger materials is a little harder to do, specifically Silver Ingots, which you’ll be using to upgrade many of the mid to late-game weapons. Thankfully, Engage includes a number of new mechanics that will help you farm Ingots & upgrade weapons fast. Here are some of the fastest ways to do it.

Fire Emblem Engage: How to Farm Silver Ingots

The four methods detailed below will help you gather as many Silver Ingots as possible, but can also help with gathering plenty of other materials like Iron and Steel Ingots, Bond Fragments, sundries, and more. 

1. Complete Story Missions and Optional Missions

Use story missions to upgrade weapons faster in Fire Emblem Engage.

The first method is the most obvious. Taking part in story missions, unit Paralogues, and Skirmishes will net you some nice rewards, including Silver Ingots. Every time a battle ends, make sure to run around the mission map and speak to everyone. They can offer items and Bond Fragments, so it’s always worth your time. Keep an eye out for the golden sparkles scattered around too, as they’ll often reward your fighting efforts with bunches of Ingots or other materials.

2. Adopt Animals to the Stable to Upgrade Weapons Faster in Fire Emblem Engage

 

Adopt don’t shop. A newer mechanic introduced in Fire Emblem Engage is the ability to adopt animals located on the post-mission map and bring them back to The Somniel’s stable. These appear on the mini-map as orange dots and adopting them is as simple as approaching and interacting. 

The goal is to adopt as many Elyosian Dogs as you can, as once placed outside the stable to graze, they can sometimes drop Iron, Steel, and Silver Ingots as loot. Other animals will drop different materials, but man’s best friend is the only one who’ll drop Ingots. You can set up to 5 animals out to graze. Do note, the drop rate isn’t great, but every little bit helps in the end.

3. Increase Donation Level

Increase donation level to upgrade weapons faster in Fire Emblem Engage.

Another method of boosting Silver Ingot drops is by increasing your Donation Level with the countries surrounding your base. By donating gold to each of the countries, you can increase all material drops after future battles that take place on maps within that country’s borders. The bonus only increases the drops when exploring after the battle finishes, so don’t leave without looting those golden sparkles first.

It also increases Gold Corrupted and Silver Corrupted spawn rates in Skirmishes, who are worth a lot of experience once defeated. EXP and materials – two birds with one stone here.

4. How to Upgrade Weapons Faster in Fire Emblem Engage: Exchange Materials for Silver Ingots

Lastly, if you’re scraping the barrel and don’t have much use for your Iron and Steel Ingots in the later chapters of the game, you can convert both into the higher-tiered Ingot. The exchange rate should be 11 lower-level Ingots for a single higher-tier Ingot. The tiering is simple: Iron > Steel > Silver.

You’ll gather plenty of Iron and Steel Ingots over the course of the game, so just approach the Smithy in the commercial center of The Somniel and choose Exchange when you’re ready to convert them.

Fire Emblem Engage Same Gender Romance: All Options

As was introduced in games like Fire Emblem Three Houses, here are all the same gender romance options in Fire Emblem Engage. While the newest game in the Fire Emblem franchise uses a slightly different romance system than its predecessor, one of the biggest changes is the increase in same gender romantic relationships. With that, here is the full list for same gender romantic relationships.

One surprise in Fire Emblem Three Houses was the true introduction of same-sex relationships in the series. However, at the same time, only a few characters were romanceable if they were the same sex as the one the player chose. That has been thrown out the window in Fire Emblem Engage, as every single romanceable character can be romanced as either version of the player.

Like previous games, the S-tier support rank is limited to one of your comrades, but the ones below are the only truly romantic relationships. Others that you can S-tier that aren’t listed below are more platonic than romantic.

This list consists of sixteen characters alphabetically, with their respective countries and genders:

  • Alfred of Firene (male): The prince of Firene, older brother to Céline, is easy-going and happy-go-lucky.
  • Bunet of Solm (male): A passionate chef and royal knight, this man operates at his own pace.
  • Chloé of Firene (female): A gentle soul, this Lance Flier cares a lot about her liege Céline as well as the beauty of nature.
  • Citrinne of Brodia (female): Someone that might seem superior and disdainful at first is a very kind woman who cares a lot about her friends.
  • Goldmary of Elusia (female): A very timid and shy girl hides a very bold and straightforward personality behind modesty.
  • Diamant of Brodia (male): Diamant is a very serious prince, with a lot of respect for his father, the King of Brodia, and supports his younger brother.
  • Ivy of Elusia (female): A very serious and quiet caster also keeps an aura of royalty and mystery.
  • Jade of Brodia (female): A very quiet and collected knight of Diamant, a woman who seems emotionless opens up to be very happy and funny to her friends.
  • Kagetsu of Elusia (male): A physical embodiment of cheerful, friendly and exotic.
  • Lapis of Brodia (female): A very deceivingly kind and physically strong girl with self-confidence issues.
  • Louis of Firene (male): An altruistic knight who seeks nothing but peace for his friends.
  • Mauvier of Firene and Elusia (male): An honest and honorable knight, formerly of Firene and now of Elusia.
  • Merrin of Solm (female): A very extravagant woman with a focus on her looks also has a love of animals.
  • Panette of Solm (female): This royal knight is polite, so much so because of a very wild past and a love for ghosts and insects.

Fire Emblem Engage Animal Adoption Guide: How To Adopt

Fire Emblem Engage has a brand-new feature that allows you to adopt animals you encounter throughout the game’s world. This is only available between the battles you participate in, when you’re allowed to roam the world and explore. Here’s exactly how to adopt animals, and why you should care about this resourceful feature.

How to Adopt Animals in Fire Emblem Engage

First, in order to gain the ability of adopting animals, you must complete the fourth chapter of Engage. You’ll know you unlocked this feature when, like all features, the notification pops up informing you adoption has been unlocked.

To adopt an animal, simply approach the animal. You don’t have to worry about being sneaking, as they will not run away. Go up to the animal and press ‘Adopt’ when the prompt appears on screen. It’s that simple! Animals are scattered throughout the world, and there are over 20 of them in Fire Emblem Engage. Some animals are extremely rare and don’t appear very often, so be on the lookout for any animals and approach them all!

It is important to note that you won’t be able to adopt all animals right away. A lot of them you will be able to adopt right away. However, there are some that will require you to rank up your donation level. The donation level is a threshold for select animals, and unless you meet the criteria, you will not be allowed to adopt it. The donation level depends on the region the animal is from, which is where you’ll also find them.

Why You Should Adopt Animals

After adopting the animal, it will now provide you with resources that you can use to your advantage. All animals will had back to the Somniel, which serves basically as Engage’s hub. Here, you can now visit them in the designated fenced-in farm.

Each of the animals at the barn will drop resources and items for you. These are extremely important and helpful, as they can allow you to craft new weapons and even outfits. Some of more challenging weapons and outfits to obtain can easily be helped through collecting animal resources.

Keep in mind that you can only have a certain number of animals out and roaming in your farm at once. You are able to adopt as many as you want, however, only the ones that are out will give you rewards and resources. This becomes important when you’re looking for certain drops, so you might have to adjust which animals are roaming and which aren’t from time to time.

Fire Emblem Engage Lookout Ridge Event Guide: How to Unlock it

Fire Emblem Engage has finally released, and one event that many players will be looking to do when they start the game is the Lookout Ridge event. This is the event that players will need to activate if they want to unlock Edelgard, Dimitri, & Claude, the three lords featured in Fire Emblem Three Houses. Players will also be able to claim other bonuses at this time.

First, though, players must be owners of the Fire Emblem Engage expansion pass. This can be purchased via the Nintendo eShop for $29.99. Keep in mind you may need to restart your game for the purchase to be recognized by the game.

Fire Emblem Engage Lookout Ridge: Unlock Edelgard, Dimitri, & Claude

How to do the Fire Emblem Engage Lookout Ridge event.

To unlock the Fire Emblem: Three Houses lords, players will simply need to progress the story. Dimitri, Claude, & Edelgard are all able to be unlocked by Expansion Pass owners after Chapter 6 of the story. After you complete this chapter, simply visit Lookout Ridge at the Somniel.

The three aren’t separate emblems, but rather combine & work as one. Luckily, there’s no sort of combat or test you have to pass to recruit these Emblem heroes. Just watch a cutscene of the three heroes from the first act of Fire Emblem Three Houses interacting (consisting of mostly bickering), and you know have the force of these heroes behind you. If you don’t have access to the expansion pass, you can live vicariously through this YouTube video of the cutscene, courtesy of Faz Faz on YouTube.

After you complete the Lookout Ridge event, the Three Houses Emblem Heroes are all yours! If you plan on using these emblem heroes, though, you’ll be greeted by quite a different system than other Emblem Heroes. Have fun experimenting with this trio!

Fandom CEO Frustrated It’s Impossible to Lay Off Unpaid Users Who Update Wikias for Fun

LOS ANGELES — Fandom CEO Perkins Miller was reportedly frustrated that it is impossible to lay off the unpaid users who edit and update the website’s various fan Wikias just for fun, according to those familiar with the situation.

“So apparently there are thousands of people essentially running our company for free right now, creating tons of content, and we just put ads on top of it and they’re not even employees. Do you see how much of a disaster this is? Thousands of people we can’t lay off. Thousands!” Miller reportedly said in a meeting. “I wanna lay these fuckers off. Let ‘em go. Send ‘em packing. Force ‘em to do a little tweet thread about how they’re looking for work. That’s what we’re in this business for! I don’t make tens of millions of dollars a year to fuck around and not lay off everyone I see. I know how to cut costs — even the $0 ones.”

Various Wikia editors were confused by the rumors.

“I just like to keep the EVE Online Wikia sites updated every hour with new information. It helps me relax. I have a fulltime job and everything, so I don’t know why they would lay me off. I just think it’s fun to work basically a second full-time job so that people can keep up to date on what’s going on with EVE Online,” said Wikia editor Seth Gomez. “Ya know because it’s a cool game.”

“If I get laid off from updating the Doki Doki Literature Club wikia, do I…. get severance?” said Alannah Woods. “Because I’ll take that. If I can get money for it.”

At press time, Miller was reportedly looking into rehiring the people let go from Giant Bomb and GameSpot so that he could lay them off again.

Genshin Impact Quest Guide: How to Restore Power to Left Arm

In the latest update to Genshin Impact, you might have run into trouble with the objective “Restore power to the Left Arm” portion of the Dune-Entombed Fecundity: Part II quest. Here, you must restore power to finish this part of the quest, which is done by picking up two power sources. These power sources are in the vicinity of the objective, but you will have to look around in order to complete this part of the quest and restore power. Here’s where you can find them, how to power them, and continue the quest.

How to Restore Power to the Left Arm – Dune-Entombed Fecundity

How to restore power to the left arm in the new Genshin Impact quest.

Once your objective states “Restore power to the left arm”, follow these steps in order to complete the task:

  • Locate the first energy source on the slanted bridge. This bridge connects the northeast and southwest portions of the map, with a giant ball structure in the middle. The little diamond is on the southwestern side.
  • Deliver it to the machine on the southwestern side of your minimap.
  • Next, immediately exit this southwestern machine room and head right. By the outside of the door, there will be your second energy source.
  • Pick up this orange diamond and head back across the bridge to the northeastern side of the map. Here, you’ll need to place this new energy source into the machine.

After following these steps, you should be good to go with the power restored to the left arm! Just remember that there are two machines you need to first power, so do keep that in mind when delivering each orange diamond.
