The Chimera was the only weapon added during the mid-season update of Season 1 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0. Long-time CoD players can recognize this weapon as the Honey Badger from previous games in the series. This assault rifle excels in Close Quarters Combat and also performs well as a silent weapon too. It can also be made much better through certain attachments and perks. With that in mind, here are the best loadouts for the Chimera in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0.

For Modern Warfare 2, we focused on improving the damage and accuracy of the Chimera to make it truly stand out from other assault rifles. The VLK LZR 7MW laser and 10’’ SA Phoenix barrel are the ones that have the most effect on the AR’s stats. The 10’’ Sa Phoenix Barrel increases the damage range and bullet velocity of the weapon as well as the much-needed recoil control. The VLK LZR 7MW laser improves the aiming stability as well as the overall ADS (Aim Down Sight) speed. The Ravage-8 also contributes to the overall ADS and movement speed. For the underbarrel, the VX Pineapple is a popular choice as it helps massively in accuracy when firing from the hip. For the optic, any red dot would do which is why we went with the Cronen Mini Pro.
The perk package for the Chimera consists of Overkill and Double Time as base perks. Overkill will grant you an additional primary weapon while Double Time will double the duration of Tactical Sprint. For the bonus perk, Fast Hands is a great choice as it will help in switching between weapons and reloading them much faster. Finally, Ghost is the ultimate perk that will keep you hidden under enemy radars. For the throwables, the Frag Grenade or Semtex is reliable for the lethal option. In the case of the tactical options, a Stun or Flash Grenade is always useful.

Most of the loadout for Warzone 2.0 is the same as the MW2 one except instead of the optic, the Rear Grip is added. The Bruen Flash Grip looks to be the best choice for this here as it improves the movement speed and the overall handling of the weapon, which is crucial in the Warzone.
The Commando perk package looks to be a great choice for the Chimera specifically. It has Scavenger and Strong Arm as the base perks. Scavenger will help in recovering additional ammo from dead enemies while Strong Arm will help in throwing equipment further and reduces the time of cooking grenades. The bonus perk is Fast Hands, the same as the MW2 loadout. High Alert is the ultimate perk that lets you know when an enemy spots you outside of your view by making your vision pulsate. The lethal and tactical options for the throwables remain the same here.
