Minnesota: Sega Bass Fishing (1998)
The fishing in this game has been described by locals as “wildly inaccurate and painting an irresponsible picture of what the great sport of fishing involves,” but that doesn’t stop them from playing the absolute shit out of it.
Mississippi: Halo 2 (2004)
They’re all still just really into Halo 2 in Mississippi. It’s not because they’re behind the times or can’t handle more advanced stuff. They just really like Halo 2.
Missouri: Factorio (2016)
Sorry to anyone expecting some insulting wisecrack about the Ozark population, but the data didn’t show that at all. In fact, they play this factory game to unwind that looks like the computer screen in The Matrix to me. Good for them. Smarter than my ass.
Montana: Super Mario Bros (1985)
Maybe one day Montana will get the internet, but until then, the classics reign!
Nebraska: Farming Simulator 23 (2023)
This is so depressing, Nebraska.
Nevada: Lawn Mower Simulator
You can do anything you want in Las Vegas, and the state of Nevada in general, except mow a lawn whenever you feel like it.
New Hampshire: Desert Bus (Part of Penn & Teller’s Smoke and Mirrors, 1995)
Originally included as a sort of troll to pull on your friends, this minigame has taken on a life of its own in the digital age. Strangely, everyone in New Hampshire seems to just sincerely enjoy this eight hour bus ride from Tucson to Vegas, however. It’s the damndest thing.
New Jersey: The Sopranos Road to Respect (2006)
