26. Days Gone
A game that makes you gas up your bike has no right taking so long to beat.
27. Demon’s Souls
If you’re looking for a challenge, you’re gonna get bored and go to a more difficult Soulsborne game. If you’re like me, even this one will be too hard for you. It’s a lose-lose.
28. Super Mario Odyssey
You probably think you beat this game, but according to Reddit, there’s, like, a whole ‘nother half of the game left to play. They say it’s the best part, but man, I really just thought I was done.
29. Red Dead Redemption 2
When you start walking all janky and slow in real life, you’ll know it’s time for you to take a break.
30. Wasteland 2
You’re sure that you would slip back into the retro CRPG gameplay like it was a warm bath. That will be true for the first 15 hours or so. People say that mods can fix all of your complaints, but you just won’t have the mental energy for that.
31. Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla
That’s the most recent one, right? I can’t really tell these games apart, and that’s at least partly because I’ve never finished any of them.
32. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
This is one of those games where you’ll come back after a few days off and think you forgot a key plot detail, but you didn’t. It never made any sense.
33. Diablo II
Sure, you’ve beaten the campaign and the expansion multiple times with every class, both solo and in multiplayer, but are you really finished? Have you ever actually felt satisfied when playing Diablo II?
34. Rune Factory 5
C’mon. Don’t act like you didn’t abandon this game for the previous entry. It’s okay; we all did it.
35. Crusader Kings III
It might be statistically impossible to “finish” Crusader Kings III before the heat death of the universe.
36. Cyberpunk 2077
They say that the developers have finally fixed this one. Maybe I should give it another shot. Maybe.
37. Spiritfarer
Either it will become emotionally overwhelming for you, or your eyes will roll out of your head at the dialogue.
38. Chillquarium
Honestly, this game just came out and I love it, so I wanted to give it a plug. You probably will stop playing before you unlock all the fish, though.
39. Divinity: Original Sin
You have a friend who put in the hours to beat this game. You saw what it did to them.
40. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Eventually, your lizard brain will tire of navigating from Lightroot to Lightroot. Your nervous system only has so much dopamine.
41. Bravely Default
It’s a wonderful homage to old-school JRPGs, including the frustrating repetition to pad out the length of the game.
42. Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire
Too much water.
Honestly, I’m getting pretty burnt out. I’m going to put this lit down for a little while I recharge a bit. I’m sure I’ll knock it out of the park once I look at it with fresh eyes.
