UPDATED June 19
XDefiant Y1S0.4 Patch Notes June 18
If you thought we wouldn't do another patch in Preseason, you thought wrong! Read more of what is changing in today's Y1S0.4 update.
Gameplay
Sped up the process of unlocking weapon attachments by lowering the amount of XP needed to level up your primary weapon, from 3,500 to 3,000, and your secondary weapon, from 1,500 to 1,000. This change is retroactive, meaning your existing weapon levels will likely be even higher now. Pause for polite applause.
To counterbalance this speedier access to performance-enhancing attachments--and provide a greater challenge to the community--Weapon Mastery level requirements have increased. However, any player who has already unlocked Bronze/Silver/Gold skins will get to keep them. We're not monsters.
Netcode
Improved how quickly your health reacts when being shot, which should reduce the feeling of being shot behind walls.
Weapons
Players wielding the MDR while strutting around in the Firestorm skin were experiencing an abnormal level of recoil, which has been reset to normal recoil. So strut away.
Factions
Restored the decorum of lying down when dead to players who previously remained on their feet after dying while under the influence of Libertad's Medico Supremo ultra.
Miscellaneous
Additional crash fixes.
XDefiant Y1S0.3 Patch Notes June 12

Gameplay
Added aiming penalties for players who go to town on the jump/crouch buttons, aka the nuanced tactic of jump spamming, aka the maddening exploit of jump spamming. Opinions vary.
Players can now push the package in Escort mode with confidence that their legs won't detach from their torso and strand them, which was a thing that was happening.
Weapons
Various fine tuning for long-distance shooting, including slightly reduced walking speed when holding your breath while wielding scoped weapons, which makes sense when you think about it.
Revamped how snipers flinch when they're tagged by enemy fire, increasing the flinch and keeping it going through multiple hits.
Squared away a PC-specific issue where players couldn't set ADS on toggle after completing a match and changing gameplay input.
Social
Fixed an Xbox-specific issue where the Xbox button broke on the in-game Social menu after inviting a player from said console.
Fixed an issue that allowed blocked players to read your chat messages.
Tweaked the way ping is calculated in matchmaking so you'll have access to a wider group of players who share your ping characteristics.
Players were unable to join a nearly full game in progress despite being invited by someone already in the game, but good news: Now they can.
Fixed an issue where players could join a game in progress that didn't fit their meticulously customized controller and matchmaking settings.
Netcode
Libertad's medical skills were so potent, they were soaking up bandwidth. That's been fixed (the bandwidth issue, not the healing potency, which remains untouched).
Factions
Added additional fixes so that Echelon players turn invisible only when using the Digital Ghillie Suit rather than for their entire lives. They're supposed to be sneaky but c'mon.
Corrected how feats of Libertad battlefield medicine are highlighted at the end of each round for well-deserved peer-group recognition.
Devices
The camera used to shake when nearby explosives exploded whether the explosion caused player damage or not, but now the camera shakes only when the exploding explosive causes damage.
Maps
Tweaked the orientation of flags on the Liberty map.
Miscellaneous
Crash fixes, various.
Reduced the pop-up frequency of the "Banned for Toxicity" notification because you know who you are.
Fixed an issue preventing players from deploying abilities and devices after changing control input.
The Buzzkill Achievement wasn't unlocking but now it unlocks according to plan.
Previously cosmetic items were displayed as available in some places but not in the place where you could actually get them. That's fixed now.

Social
While in a party, we now display the most restrictive Crossplay setting among the party members, as it applies to the whole party. Also fixed an issue where party members with differing Crossplay settings couldn't matchmake.
Fixed an issue with displaying incorrect player names on some Social screens.
Fixed a crash caused by spamming open/close View Party Invites, but who would even do that, calm down.
On consoles, Ubisoft Connect party invites could display as if they were coming from Xbox or PlayStation Network friends. Fixed that, along with some other weird invite-related things.
Miscellaneous
Fixed some missing terrain textures when players joined matches in progress on some maps.
Input-Based Matchmaking setting status now updates correctly after changing it on Xbox.
Fixed a thing on PS5 where people could sneak into places they shouldn't via PS5 Activities.
Security improvements, various.
XDefiant Preseason Patch 1 Notes May 24
Game Modes
Sometimes players loading into the Practice Zone would spawn outside the world, in a hellscape, and now they (probably) will not.
Devices
Fixed an issue where if the player died during the device deployment animation, their next deployed device would drop at their feet rather than be thrown as intended.
Netcode
That issue where you'd get hitmarkers on an enemy as they killed you, but their health bar still appeared full to you? The health bar display was wrong - you did damage them. Should be fixed now.
Localization
Fixed an issue where end-of-match UI text would display with the wrong orientation in Arabic.
Miscellaneous
We've turned the Practice Zone back on but it's possible weird things could still happen.
Fixed an issue that was causing low framerates with some AMD GPUs.

Gameplay
FACTIONS
The Echelon faction is back. We fixed the issue with agents turning invisible in a bad way versus the good and intended way (using the Digital Ghillie Suit ability).
DedSec's Spiderbot ability has returned. Prepare your face for hugging.
DEVICES
Devices (aka grenades) are less likely to fall at your feet if used immediately after respawning, but it can still happen. We're working on it! Grenades are inherently risky.
Netcode
Occasionally after you died, you could still run around in the world for a few seconds. Now when you die you stay fully dead, as your opponent intended.
Reduced the range between the highest ping and lowest ping in matchmaking, so now you'll be grouped with players who have a more similar ping to your own.
Audio
Fixed an issue with killstreak VO lines playing at the beginning of every match and when you died, which was particularly insulting. Turn the announcer volume back up in the Settings menu (Dialogue Volume)!
Audio improvements, many.
Social
Xbox Series X/S players now see their Xbox friends list as the primary friends list in game.
Fixed an Xbox-specific issue where if you suspended the game, then accessed the in-game Social menu and selected "Invite to Party" or "View Party Invites", Ubisoft Connect wouldn't open properly.
Fixed an issue on Xbox where if you got an error message while trying to join a full party, key UI elements would disappear.
Localization
On consoles, if you accessed the Ubisoft Connect overlay via the Social menu, the text wasn't localized for any non-English languages. It is now.
Miscellaneous
Fixed a crash that could occur when accessing the Loadout menu tab.
Updated the word list the Chat Language Filter uses.
Fixed issues with misaligned HUD elements on PlayStation 5.
