The Destiny 2 Lightfall Expansion is here and with it comes a lot of new content, but aside from the new campaign and new Strand subclasses, there have been many changes to the UI, like with the addition of a commendation system. This is a way to thank other players after completing different activities, similar to the post-match screen of the Overwatch franchise. So, here are all the commendations added to Destiny 2, and how to earn them!
What Are Commendations in Destiny 2?
Commendations in Destiny 2 are a new post-activity feature allowing players to thank, or commend, teammates in various categories based on their experience playing with them. It is important to note that this does not apply to friends. As mentioned the commendation system is broken down into multiple categories and each category is broken down further into each specific commendation. Finally, these different subsets can be given in any activity, while others are only awarded in certain activities like Raids and Dungeons. Here is every possible Commendation in Destiny 2 for the launch of Lightfall:
NOTE: While this system has been introduced with the launch of the Lightfall expansion, players don’t need to own the expansion to give and receive commendations.

How to Earn Commendations in Destiny 2
Commendations are earned across all kinds of activities in Destiny 2. They will be given to you by other teammates after activities for playing well, communicating well, or being knowledgeable about the game. As friends can’t just spam-give each other commendations, you’ll need to get out there and prove your worth to the many other unfamiliar guardians you’ll cross paths with.
How to View My Commendations in Destiny 2
Commendations can be viewed through the new Journey menu introduced in the Lightfall expansion update. From the commendations tab, you can review a breakdown of every type of commendation and a snapshot of all the commendations you have received and sent.
