The WWE WrestleMania 40 Night 1 Main Event has finally been made official, with The Rock set for a sensational return to the ring.
After a tumultuous return to WWE programming, soon after he was confirmed to be the latest member of the TKO board, ‘The Great One’ turned heel, aligning himself with The Bloodline and attempting to make the WrestleMania 40 main event The Rock vs Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Heavyweight Championship.
Cody Rhodes, the winner of January’s Men’s Royal Rumble event, confirmed at the WrestleMania 40 Press Conference that HE would be facing Roman for the title, to “finish his story.”

What followed was weeks of back and forth on the microphone between The Rock, Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins, which has led to the Night 1 Main Event of WrestleMania XL being confirmed as a massive tag team match on this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown: The Rock & Roman Reigns vs Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins.
Dwayne Johnson would also reveal on this week’s episode of SmackDown that if Cody were unable to defeat Roman in the Night 2 main event of WrestleMania 40, which will be for Reigns’ aforementioned World title, he could never challenge for the title again.
